Partner Integration Engineer

A Partner Integration Engineer is a cloud computing pioneer. S/He solves problems for our customers by working closely with internal and external technology partners to create innovative services in the Verizon Cloud. 

The ideal candidate understands the revolutionary potential within cloud computing and has worn multiple hats over his/her career – as a solutions architect, sales engineer, systems administrator, devops engineer, software developer and/or QA/QE test and automation engineer. S/he enjoys working with new technology, has a strong aptitude for self-directed learning, and derives a true sense of accomplishment from building solutions that add value to the livelihoods of our customers. 

The candidate must enjoy working with new technology and guiding partners to successfully consume and build new services built on this technology. S/he will work closely across the organization, providing valuable feedback to product development and engineering teams to positively shape the strategic evolution of the Verizon Cloud and its partner eco-system.



  • 4+ years of work experience in an IT-related discipline, preferably interfacing with customers or technology partners directly in a Sales Engineering, Consulting, Technical Support, or a similar Partner Engineering role
  • BSCS or a related degree preferred

All applicants must have:

  • Cloud Computing and Virtualization: Hands-on experience building solutions with virtualization technologies and hypervisors (Xen, KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, etc.), virtualized networking and public/private/hybrid cloud computing solutions (AWS, OpenStack, CloudStack, Eucalyptus, OpenNebula, VCloud, etc.)
  • Operating systems and networking: Understanding of Linux / UNIX core fundamentals, including command-line operations and scripting; network protocols and services
  • Middleware: Hands-on experience building web, application and database services

 Applicants must also demonstrate deep expertise in at least one (1) of the following domains:

  • Systems engineering: Linux, UNIX or Windows internals, device drivers, memory management, IPC and scheduling
  • Networking: TCP/IP, firewalls, load-balancers, spanning-tree protocol, SIP, HIP, OSPF, BGP, SNMP
  • Storage: object stores (S3, Swift) and SAN, NAS, NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FCoE, AoE, Fibre channel
  • Databases: RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL), noSQL (MongoDB, Riak, Cassandra); Big Data (MapReduce, Hadoop)
  • Software engineering: hands-on experience building business applications with C, C++, Java; familiarity with Python, Ruby and Javascript; PaaS experience
