The Consultant is responsible for 24/7 Client System Support, project management and detailed technical and business leadership for the Recovery systems for Consumer, Mass Market Business, Enterprise and Wireless lines of business. In this role the Consultant will be a conduit between the business and various IT teams and must be able to develop the necessary relationships so that when the Consultant decides on a resolution it is able to be carried forth quickly without hesitation. During any system outages or new projects the Consultant will be called upon as a first line resource and to expertly represent Verizon on all matters concerning Recovery systems.
The Consultant will care for Telecom and Wireless Receivables and utilize two highly customized recovery systems that interface with, multiple billing/AR systems, field users and over 10 vendors. The Consultant will also be responsible for being a lead on all enhancements projects be it as the Sponsor or impacted party for any of the aforementioned systems or processes and will be responsible for determining impacts, developing requirements and keeping the team and their Manager up to date. The Consultant is responsible for making Go/NoGo decisions impacting the Recovery Systems.
Value is provided to the enterprise by constantly improving the processes associated with the delivery of specific Finance and/or Accounting services to provide timely, accurate information and to ultimately safeguard Verizon assets.
‐ Provides detailed business requirements for inclusion in the requirement gathering process. Solicits feedback from key clients on business requirements and makes decision on which requirements are included.
‐ Analyzes and interprets reports for managers providing recommendations to guide business decisions.
‐ Maintains on‐going interaction with internal client groups and other functional areas relating to objectives, deliverables, resource allocation and related matters.
‐ Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies for their assigned work stream or function(s).
‐ Ensures compliance with internal policies and controls, and with external regulations.
‐ Undertakes complex projects and provides guidance on project related issues as needed.
‐ Leads training and skills development initiatives as a Recovery System Subject Matter Expert.
‐ Leads user acceptance testing activities associated with new or modified systems; removes UAT hurdles as needed.
- Makes Go/NoGo decisions regarding the movement of features and functionality into production.
- Accountable for user acceptance regression testing when associated systems make changes that could impact Verzion systems and provides Go/NoGo decisions on whether to implement or not.
‐ Fields issue escalations from internal customers or delivery partners and responds to customer inquiries as requested, leading issue and error resolution.
‐ Identifies improvement opportunities for their work stream and leads a project team to enable implementation.
‐ Monitors the services delivered by the service providers and validating that performance metrics established by service level agreements are met as applicable.
Requires BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
‐ 4+ years of professional experience.
‐ Intermediate level of understanding for report query and design.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a collections/credit or related environment
- Preferred experience in Recovery Systems, including working knowledge and/or understanding of related systems and processes.
- Ability to read flat files, reports and create database queries
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- - Independent thinking & works aggressively with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
‐ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; strong written and oral communications skills.
‐ Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry preferred
