The Senior Inside Sales Executive (SISE) is responsible for strategic solution-based and transactional sales to an assigned Government and Education account base to meet/exceed all business/sales targets. The SISE will identify, cultivate and close opportunities with clients by selling across the entire Verizon portfolio (wireless, wireline, security, cloud, etc), and is responsible for maintaining a sales pipeline, and for providing accurate sales forecasts. The SISE will be accountable for daily call activity and for meeting productivity expectations.


The SISE must be able to gain a comprehensive understanding of clients’ goals, challenges and needs to clearly define and effectively communicate relevant Verizon solutions and value propositions at various levels within the clients' organizations. To be effective in this role, the SISE must understand the details of the solutions being sold, and how the clients' investments will add value to their organizations.


The SISE will ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior is compliant with Verizon’s ethics code. As this is a position selling to Government and Education accounts, the SISE must understand, and ensure business is compliant with, pertinent government regulations.


The candidate hired will be required to participate in necessary training and development to ensure understanding of applicable contract vehicles, products and offers across Verizon’s portfolio, and pertinent government regulations.


Bachelors degree preferred; in addition:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to operate in positions requiring significant self direction and motivation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and operate independently and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand when/where to redirect sales efforts as appropriate to achieve revenue growth and sales objectives
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Understanding of business finance, principals and application of an ROI model
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Assertive follow-up and closing skills
  • Experience working in or conducting business with municipalities, government agencies and/or K-12/higher education preferred, but not required
  • Experience in telephone or outside business-to-business or technical sales is a plus
