Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the day to day operations of the Data Services Performance Center (DSPC) in Ashburn, VA. This team is responsible for configuration, testing, and trouble shooting of all Layer 2.5+ (MPLS) customer facing circuits being added to the Verizon SES network.

Responsibilities include - leading a highly skilled team of Supervisors/Specialists/Consultants for provisioning & maintenance of customer facing layer 2 (EVC) circuits. The team also project manages network migrations, automations, user requirements and flow through improvements. Ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing/project managing the projects, balance workload of the team and effectively partner with cross functional teams. Accountable for managing the operational expense budget, achieving departmental and corporate performance objectives for circuit level provisioning and maintenance as well as ensuring all required training, development and coaching for team to achieve stated responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

- Bachelors Degree required in Engineering or Other related Technical Discipline preferred with minimum of 7 years experience in the high tech industry.

- Strong technical and project management experience

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Self starter who builds inclusive teams and motivates people to take resonsbility, make decisions and act on their own

- Knowledge of networking fundamentals: to include the full OSI layer and routing protocols

- At least 3 years management experience working with data services networks/equipment (i.e. TLS, MPLS, CISCO, ALU)

 

 

Desired Skills:

- Advanced Degree Electrical Engineering

- Knowledge of Verizon’s SES architecture

- Experience with current SES and MPLS deployment initiatives

- Experience working with internal organizations such as Engineering, Network Operations, and Ordering centers

- Experience working in a call center environment handling customer inquiries, testing and troubleshooting

- Experience using ACD software for call monitoring

- Excel, Outlook and Word experience
