This position will build new revenue streams for Verizon in the m:Commerce space.  Initiatives include carrier billing, online checkout, secure authorization/identification, fraud controls and pre-paid or gift cards.  Responsibilities include business case development, channel strategies, business development and program management.

  • Define/develop products, along with setting the launch strategies for Verizon channels which best align with Verizon’s strategic plan and objectives
  • Evaluate the opportunities to leverage card on file data, billing insight and location information to provide a superior online and/or mobile checkout experience
  • Evaluate the financial and strategic impacts of different carrier billing models including spend caps, partnership approach and margin/volume
  • Work with product development teams to commercialize new products including introduction to Verizon Channels, business development, pricing, promotion and ongoing performance management
  • Coordinate and execute cross-functional product strategies with the immediate team along with HQ and field leadership. 
  • Provide regular executive updates on strategies and status of business case drivers for existing and new mobile commerce products


Education - A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer engineering, the Ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and technology education and background with a Masters in Business Administration.

• 4+ years of product management experience in defining, developing and launching products in consumer channels.
• Mobile Commerce experience in payments, remote payments, carrier billing
• An understanding of the financial value chain in payments including issuers, processors, standards bodies
• Understanding of the key disruptive capabilities to established value chain in fraud control, payment acceptance, proximity marketing.  Terms like NFC, HCE, Card not present, EMVCO and arbitrage should make sense
• Managed a high performing team of marketing or product managers
• A desire to innovate an entrepreneurial mind-set with a healthy disregard for the impossible• • Excellent written and oral communication skills and outstanding problem solving skills
• Proven track record in managing vendors and partners to develop and launch products
• Superior judgment and the ability to recognize and escalate situations, or manage escalated situations
• Superior negotiating skills to guide the outcome that maximizes value between key stake holders
