Responsibilities

Focuses on the data gather and subsequent creation of supply chain models.  These models are used for developing operational strategies and creating efficiencies both within the organization and at the warehouse/ supplier level.   In addition to daily reporting, the Analyst will be present on multiple projects and work closely with other team members.  Fundamental duties are to: Gather and analyze supply chain data, perform analysis of distribution networks, calculate production at manufactures, monitor and report warehouse capacity, create financial models, present descriptive and informational maps/graphics, and prepare presentations for Senior Management of Supply Chain analysis.

  • Gather and analyze supply chain data from multiple data streams (i.e. freight, inventory, warehouse, roles, etc.).
  • Conduct various downloads from legacy and Oracle systems.
  • Create Access databases to aggregate data and information.
  • Create freight costing models and apply regression techniques where applicable.
  • Perform analysis of distribution networks using linear programming software, spreadsheets and database programs.
  • Conduct what if? Analysis to understand accuracy of data and change opportunity.
  • Develop production capacity models based on production information and forecasted sales.
  • Develop warehouse capacity models based on warehouse layouts and historical sales volumes, need and other critical factors.
  • Create IRR models and perform cash flow analysis.
  • Relay supply chain network output into graphical formats.
  • Present various transportation/ supply chain scenarios demonstrating the use of gathered and hypothetical data.  Push data into charts and graphs (Excel, PowerPoint) for distribution to other departments and groups.
  • Combine solution results with graphics to create presentations and reports (PowerPoint, Word) for daily reporting both interdepartmentally and across multiple departments.
  • Prepare presentations for senior management regarding the recommendations of various studies and projects.
  • Work on additional projects as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in OBIEE data mining and report generation; able to work at a deep level with IT resources, and systems analysts to identify and validate data.   Cooperative or internship experience in a logistics or supply chain related position is desired.
  • Technical skills should include an understanding of linear programming, network optimization, data mining, cost/benefit analysis, and basic supply chain principles. Gather and analyze multiple streams of supply chain data (i.e. freight, inventory, warehouse, roles, etc.)
  • Must be able to position downloads from legacy and Oracle Systems, scrubs data and reports on error and redundancy rates , Convert scenario and sensitivity analysis into charts and graphs (excel), creates executive presentations, Combine solution results with graphics to create presentations and reports (PowerPoint, Word) for daily reporting both interdepartmentally, and across multiple departments.  Must be familiar with Seibel database and be fluent in data capture and system requirements, able to calculate and present inventory cash flows, be knowledgeable in the use of warehouse management systems and have a thorough understanding of material flow, handling and storage.
