This position manages an executive reporting and analysis team in the Verizon Global Fraud Operations & Governance organization, responsible for providing analytical insights to leadership for operational and strategic decision making.  Responsibilities will include creation of executive-level analytic packages that provide meaningful, actionable information, which explains results and shows what is happening in the business, highlighting key risks and opportunities. 

Manage and develop a team responsible for executive-level fraud reporting:

  • Create comprehensive reporting and analysis by extracting data using SQL from multiple source systems  Utilize and lead team in data mining efforts to evaluate and critically inspect fraud financial and operational results.
  • Provide recommendations to the fraud leadership team based on analyses generated.  Work with stakeholders to obtain a greater understanding of the needs of the business and the types of analysis helpful to better understand fraud financial and operational results.
  • Lead and project manage evolution of monthly fraud executive reporting to deliver meaningful analytical measures and presentations that tell the story of what is happening in the business.  Maintain reporting relevance to add value to the business.
  • Develop requirements for Business Intelligence automation and simplification of the executive reporting process.   Develop reliable and efficient reporting methodologies and automation to allow team to respond to requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Own fraud governance reporting process.  Responsible for ensuring that all critical fraud loss information and trends are accurate and shared with senior executives and audit committees.
  • Create fraud metrics to allow for standardized reporting and ensure we are accurately measuring impact on the business.
  • Develop departmental budgets and forecasts independently.  Perform monthly BvA analysis and communicate any concerns or make recommendations.
  • Develop complex business cases to determine impacts of changes in the business, systems and processes.  Responsible for analysis from beginning to end – understanding the business drivers, gathering appropriate inputs, making assumptions all the way to NPV calculation and presentation of findings.
  • Ensure accuracy of results through audits of reporting logic, team code review and a commitment to quality control.
  • Develop and maintain proper reporting process and control documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related field required.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years experience in a reporting and analysis role with strong quantitative and analytical skills and a proven track record of turning large amounts of multi-faceted data into meaningful information required.
  • 4+ years experience creating executive level presentations, such as ops reviews, audit committee reporting or strategy updates, and governance reporting.
  • 3+ years experience writing SQL against large Teradata and/or Oracle datasets to generate reporting required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of departmental budget process and experience with BvA reporting.  Ability to manage process independently.
  • Experience in business case development and analysis required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and key financial systems, such as Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deliver results by critical deadlines.
