Responsibilities

OSS Release Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and developing the current build and release process. 

This role is for an Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, diverse environment and is passionate about software build & release process. You will be in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with responsibilities that include automating builds and managing releases.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, develop a build and release management system.
Responsible for maintaining technical consistency of all OSS managed environments.

Troubleshooting release related defects or issues in the OSS managed environments.

Implement measures automated or manual to ensure consistency of the OSS managed environments.    

Design & enforce policies for managing source code within TFS, including branching, merging and tagging policies to support parallel development

Develop and maintain documentation of the build/release process

Investigate tools that might speed up the process or make us more efficient in build and release management 

Work closely with Verizon Terremark’s Product Development and Systems Development to help advance the capabilities of Verizon Terremark’s Cloud Services application infrastructure.

Work closely with Customer Support organizations and customers to help lead continual improvement in the availability, performance, functionality and security of Terremark’s Cloud Services application infrastructure.

Participate in a technical leadership role in the rollout of new Cloud Services application releases to staging and production infrastructures.

Manage the testing and installation of updated software, system upgrades and patches through Verizon Change Control process.

Continually evaluate release management process for opportunities for improvement in both velocity and quality.

Familiar with open source and agile methodologies.

 

Qualifications

5+ years release engineering experience

Extensive knowledge of Cloud Computing

Extensive knowledge of Networking concepts.

Experience in maintaining and working with Windows environments

Experience in designing, building and maintaining an automated build and release environment

Experience in builds developed in .NET and Java based applications.

Experience in designing a software release process to satisfy internal audit and compliance

Experience in coordinating release from Development to production

Familiar with object-oriented programming like C#

Familiar with SQL 

Mastery of source control tools such as TFS or SVN
