Responsibilities

 Verizon’s OnCue Hardware Engineering team is looking for a highly qualified System Validation Engineer. This role is a key technical contributor that works cross-functionally with HW Engineering, Marketing, SW/FW developers, and various Validation teams to develop system test strategies, test plans, and perform test execution. Validation tests are run to verify that HW product functionality meets product requirements. Additionally, the role requires debug, root cause, and resolution of HW and system issues as they occur.

 Responsibilities:

-   Evaluation of test specifications, requirements, strategies and methodologies for system level testing

-   Coordination of test effort preparation and requirements tracking

-   Reviewing, tracking, documenting, and summarizing test results

-   Interacting with architects, design engineers, systems engineers, firmware developers and software developers, for a high degree of collaboration and leverage in all phases of the design process

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or similar degree is preferred; a Masters of Science degree is a plus.

  • 4+ years of industry experience
  • 4+ years of experience in validating HW components of consumer electronics finished products
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, including knowledge of: Linux and Android operating systems, Linux and Android driver and/or application development
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, including knowledge of: Linux operating system, Linux driver and/or application development
  • 4+ years of experience in modern PC architecture and usage models, including processors, boot FW, and common system busses including PCI-Express, memory, SATA, USB, HDMI, and others
  • 2+ years of experience working in an embedded Linux environment and familiarity with SW development and build processes
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and scaling automated test methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and debug problem solving skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
  • Experience with wireless devices, performance, compatibility and interoperability testing, power state and power immunity is a plus
