The Platform Validation Team is looking for a Validation Engineer to assist in the test and design of consumer electronic products, proof of concepts (POCs), and other hardware, firmware, and software associated with Verizon’s OnCue product development. This position works in a team with other validation engineers, hardware designers, firmware/software engineers, and other development team members in various capacities to achieve program goals and objectives.

Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Defining and writing tests based on product specifications and capabilities
  • Test execution
  • Test writing
  • Bug writing and regression
  • Test execution status
  • Maintenance of test and lab equipment
  • Resolving design and implementation issues



B.S. degree in Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering is preferred, along with experience in software, firmware, and/or hardware testing

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Must be proficient in Linux (Android a plus)
  • Must be proficient in use of MS Windows and MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Script development experience (preferably Bash, Python, Perl)
  • Test execution
  • Test writing
  • Bug writing and regression
  • Test execution status and metrics
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work in a team environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Linux & Android embedded system, driver, or hardware validation
  • Intel Architecture SoC electrical, system, or driver validation experience
  • Wi-Fi/BT, HDMI, test experience
  • Experience with basic tools of the trade (DMM, O-scope, debuggers, and firmware programmers)
  • Development experience with any of the following: Python, embedded Linux, Android, or embedded system validation
