The Manager of the Network Analytics team is responsible for establishing a team that is capable of not only creating series of statistically valid control points, but ensuring that the team has the knowledge and access to the appropriate information to engage in meaningful analytics in all network matters that affect either the customer experience or Verizon financial streams.

The tools used to perform these advanced analytics functions will vary depending on the nature of the request and control but will likely include various statistical packages such as SAS and JMP through emerging data visualization technologies.

  • Design, develop and implement sophisticated data analytic controls for various touch points in the Network signaling and billing paths to ensure the ongoing integrity of our revenue stream, accurate customer experience and billing.
  • Direct and coordinate the process to extract, normalize, analyze, review and report with respect to data mining efforts related to network activity with respect to rating and usage alerting initiatives.
  • Design, develop, maintain and communicate risk based analytic controls to ensure the integrity of the billing streams
  • Design and develop standard and ad hoc device centric reporting based on business requirement needs
  • Extract, normalize, analyze, review and report on network centric data to identify trends and/or anomalies
  • Partner with cross-functional groups across the enterprise in network changes and enhancements to ensure that changes and enhancements do not degrade the integrity of the records being transmitted upstream.
  • Leverage emerging technologies (Big Data) and advanced analytic techniques to create the statistical models required to identify conditions that have the potential to affect either the customer experience or the rating and billing flows.
  • Utilizing business knowledge, financial analysis skills and risk management techniques, champion efforts to effect changes within the business to ensure subscribers are billed correctly. As part of that, oversee the writing of Requirements Templates (RT’s) or other necessary documentation to enhance the existing systems and avoid incorrectly billing subscribers
  • Identify opportunities for revenue recovery and assist in implementation
  • Exercises sound judgment in developing methods and techniques within a sometimes ambiguous environment; work requires constant interpretation.
  • Direct the identification and use of appropriate analytical technologies


- 3+ years of work experience in a technical position

- 2+ years experience working with analytic tools (SQL, Hadoop, Data Visualization)

- 3+ years of relevant wireless industry experience is required

- Knowledge of Wireless network technologies like 1XRTT, CDMA, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA/HSDPA+, EVDO, LTE is highly desired

- 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred



Undergraduate or Associates degree is required (+ relevant work experience). Advanced study or degree is preferred. A discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Financial Economics/Econometrics, or Computer Science is preferred.


Relevant certifications are preferred but not required. Relevant certifications include: PMP, Comp TIA A+, Comp TIA Network+, Comp TIA Security +, CCNA, Oracle, Teradata etc.
