Responsibilities

Delivers financial guidance as an individual contributor working in Verizon Enterprise Solutions within the Finance FP&A organization. Responsible for gathering inputs and developing key assumptions. Provides indepth analytical support and analysis for the budgeting and forecasting of revenue and sales performance and supports more complex analysis across their department. Defines the need for and the source of data requirements for business needs and the client and user application of the data. This is a key position due to the analysis and reporting functions performed on a daily basis, requiring a solid understanding of the business along with strong communications and presentations skills, both written and verbal.

  Works as an individual contributor who is a subject matter expert within the finance function.

Analyzes and interprets reports for managers providing recommendations to guide business decisions.

 Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies for their assigned work stream or function(s).

Prepares budgets and forecasts, including monthly/quarterly forecasts, midyear forecasts and annual budgets.

Performs monthly variance analysis of actual results to budgeted/forecasted performance and makes recommendations.

Creates internal management reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial results and prepares commentaries for senior management.

Prepares monthly reports and variance analysis for management review, participates in short and long range financial planning and forecasting and prepares ad hoc financial reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years financial analysis and reporting experience required
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred
  • Broad knowledge of finance and accounting systems and applications
  • Indepth understanding of report query and design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Self-starter who can work in a fast paced, quickly changing, and high pressure environment
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry preferred
