Responsibilities

This individual contributor is accountable to deliver key analyses and business insights associated with strategic pricing initiatives, iconic device launches, new product launches, and promotional offers (as well as ad hoc requests).  The primary objective of the incumbent’s work is to enable decision support and to help Verizon achieve its company priorities and targeted results. In this capacity, the incumbent will be responsible to work with business partners to ensure a clear understanding of the drivers, key benefits/expectations for the respective initiatives to ensure that all findings and insights are placed in the optimal context.  Furthermore, the incumbent will work with the highest level of integrity, accuracy, and sense of urgency; because their output will be used by C level management and their direct reports, Area senior staff, and the business sponsors to assess impacts and empower decisions.

1. Strategic Launch and Promotional Analyses.
Provide valuable business insights and analytics to drive decision support and/or course corrections for pricing and device launches, product initiatives, and promotions. Responsibility also includes developing concise storyboards to provide a context to summarize findings, benchmark actual results vs. expected benefits, and outline specific recommendations which may include actions for course correction.

2. Launch Calendar Planning and Management.
Monitor go-to-market calendar and planning efforts for device offers, service launches, promotions, etc. to ensure resources are aligned to provide decision support analyses at launch. Specific responsibilities include categorizing the LOE for each initiative, determining how we will present the results, serving as the SME to address questions, and gaining agreement on how the analyses will be presented, frequency, and target audience.

3. Decision Support and Executive Level Analyses.
Publish analytics, business insights, and recommendations on Strategic Initiatives, as well as ad hoc analyses for decision support. Requires the ability to ideate and create conclusive analyses for C level executives, VLC and Board meetings, postmortem or deep dive analyses, etc.

Qualifications

Experience:

o 6+ years data analysis or related experience
o Experienced at developing business insight analyses for executives, including C level
o Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or related experience
o MBA or advanced degree in B/I or Data Analytics preferred

o Superior verbal and written communication skills
o Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills
o Strong project and time management skills
o Advanced presentation and visualization skills to translate analyses, and key findings, into read outs for distribution to senior staff

Abilities:

o Ability to take complex issues and distill large amounts of data into impactful insights
o Strong logical, quantitative, and analytical abilities
o Capable of managing multiple high profile, competing project requests
o Ability to collaborate and partner, and to lead in a cross functional team environment
o Create and apply a business intelligence framework to enrich the context of reporting/insights

Knowledge:

o Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) skills
o Working knowledge of wireless products or consumer product marketing preferred
o Ability to quickly learn and utilize various Financial systems (i.e. Hyperion Essbase)
