Billing Solutions Manager

Responsibilities

  

Overview:

Manage all aspects of group - provide leadership, guidance, support; as well as develop and coach all direct reports. Serve as a resource and point of contact interacting with Sales, Sales Support, Legal and Pricing and Contract Management teams to represent all aspects of Financial Operations during contract negotiation and RFP processes and other related Financial Operations initiatives. Represent and partner with Financial Operations and external groups throughout the contract processes, including Billing, Implementation, Collections, AR, Accounting, Marketing, etc. Recommend, drive and manage improvement processes and changes. Analyze trends within areas of support to identify the need for product enhancements, enhanced billing support mechanisms, and/or product capability awareness. Must be able to interact with multiple groups across Verizon on a daily basis and assist in the development of group guidance and product guidelines. Communicate with all levels of management within internal and external support teams. Must be able to work independently, prioritize work, be flexible, creative, provide guidance, work out of the box initiatives, be a team player, have ability to drive issues toward successful resolution, and have good presentation skills. The position requires extremely strong project management and negotiation skills, in addition to possessing great judgment and decision making abilities. Extensive knowledge of Verizon’s products/services and invoicing abilities are required.

Specific Responsibilities:

Partners with Sales, Legal, Pricing Management and Solution Development Architects as contracts are being negotiated to influence and change contract terms and conditions, and pricing structures to ensure billing and financial supportability in support of US and Canada led custom and complex deal negotiations for domestic and worldwide business contracts. In addition includes taking the lead on global worldwide led contracts that includes US and/or Canada locations.

Participate in all Weekly deal review calls. Manage ownership of all billing related inquiries and the creation of appropriate billing solutions and documentation.

Manage requests for non-standard billing solutions and think out of the box to create workable solutions and alternatives to meet the customer requirements and stay within internal Financial guidelines.

Participate in and drive contract negotiation improvement efforts.

Leads efforts with Marketing when new services are identified in contracts that aren’t yet implemented to determine Verizon’s plan for IT development and support, and identify if/how the solution can be supported until automation is in place.

Develops and leverages relationships with other organizations to ensure collaboration is effective and knowledge is shared among the teams that impact the ability to support customer requirements.

Provides guidance to staff, supports escalation requests, develop staff so they are able to effectively support all types of contracts, and ensure timely resolution and communication of all exception requests.

Manage teams to promote individual responsibility and ownership of resolutions to all inquiries and non-standard or problematic contract offerings.

Identifies workload issues and solutions that allow the team to support the base of customers and regions they are responsible for.

Identifies key performance, identifies methods to track performance, provides monthly updates to Associate Director and implements changes where results aren’t as expected.

Leads the team by being a role model, identifies opportunities allowing for employee growth and assists the team in achieving all KPI’s.

Provides consistent updates to the Associate Director of the top negotiations being worked, along with their challenges and recommendations.

Ensures Presale has documentation in place for all major products/services; Identifies staff to create documentation when new services are implemented.

 

Qualifications

 

Extremely strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills.

Extensive project management skills, PMP certification preferred.

Knowledge of Verizon’s products, services and systems are required.

Ability to make very sound decisions and stand by them during tough negotiation situations.

Experience with being in an influential role and gaining buy in from other teams.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; 4-6 years professional experience.

1-3 years experience in a similar management role within Verizon.

Very strong presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office inclusive of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
