Responsibilities

Critically evaluate new technologies and their applicability to Verizon Wireless network and service strategy. Responsibilities include working with marketing, strategy teams in commercializing new technologies and services. Evaluate new technologies to complement/supplement Verizon's network/services. Interface with internal teams such as device, and network planning. Under the direction of management, support projects across a variety of disciplines related to accomplishment of strategic objectives of the company

Qualifications

 

*Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering preferred (or a closely related discipline).
Need strong technical and analytical skills, strong experience in engineering and design, and demonstrated knowledge of wireless networks (network and/or device). Significant understanding and interest in wireless, networking, and mobile technologies/markets. Knowledge and experience with LTE standard including EPC and RAN.  Ability to work effectively with internal and external groups and vendors required.
Exceptional communicator in written, graphical and oral forms, with a collaborative and flexible style.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Background preferred in a variety of wireless subject areas, with mobile and access systems of special interest.   Must be able to create presentations (using PowerPoint and other tools) of very high quality, using information assimilated from multiple sources, distilled to clear, impactful slides.

Capacity and network modeling. Need good understanding of OpNet, MATLAB and similar modeling tools.
