Background

 

The Verizon Network Support & Repair Unit (NSRU) within our Global Delivery organisation, provides leading edge technical support to Verizon's customer base by performing fault identification, diagnosis and correction on customer reported faults and technical requests.

 

This group offers an outstanding opportunity to build a career in global network operations.  Indeed it is as a result of recent internal promotions and moves, that we are now looking to recruit a high energy, team focused Network Engineer to help take the team forward.

 

As a Verizon Network Engineer you will work with clients, colleagues and 3rd parties to identify, diagnose and resolve a range of technical challenges that our clients have raised with us.

           

Qualifications

Some key attributes we are looking to identify in our successful candidates:

 

Technical:

  • Demonstrate very good knowledge in two or more major platforms IP, Data, or Transmission
    • Includes but not limited to: Daccs 1/0 4/3/1, Frame, ATM,TCP/IP networks, PDH/SDH transmission, Cisco router troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Recognized / related qualifications for this work would be a real advantage

 

Problem Solving:

  • You must employ a structured approach to questioning and adopt a logical troubleshooting methodology with minimal supervision

 

Communication:

  • Excellent level of team focused communication skills and able to represent the NSRU organisation in a customer facing (internal and external) situation in a professional manner.

 

Customer Service:

  • Demonstrates the ability to remain customer focused and the importance of exceeding customer expectations.

 

Coaching & Teamwork:

  • Exercise strong coaching skills in order to interact with other engineers. Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the techniques used in training, coaching and teamwork
