Principal Consultant (Unified Communications)

Responsibilities

You will serve as a “Strategic Thought Leader” for the ASCIS Professional Services organization, reporting to the Head of ASCIS (International). You will be an “Individual Contributor” @ “Principal Level” managing the Asia Pacific (APAC) portfolio in a newly created opportunity within Verizon APAC. 

To be successful in this role, you should have a track record in delivering Enterprise and/or Telco grade Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) solutions from opportunity identification through to final project closure. 

You must have significant deployment experience, both from a Consultative and hands-on capacity, with a minimum of one of the following technology vendors Cisco, Unify and/or Microsoft in several of the following areas:

  • VoIP Transformation
  • Audio/Video/Web Conferencing
  • Contact Centre
  • Data Center Infrastructure
  • Presence federation
  • E-mail & Calendaring
  • SharePoint
  • Digital Signage
  • Video Streaming.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with Sale / Account directors, Sales Engineers, and Solutions Architects to promote, identify and support Pre-sales opportunities for Professional Services.
  • You will own and contribute to proposals and Statements of Work (SoW).
  • You will own and execute on Consulting engagements across the full lifecycle, from initial pre-sales consultation through discovery to delivery and successful completion of engagement, which includes:
  • Presentation of Professional Services capabilities
  • Thought leadership
  • Problem analysis and requirements capture
  • Business case development
  • Detailed discovery at strategic, business and technology levels
  • High level solution definition
  • Technology migration strategy and planning
  • Advise on best practice
  • Cost / Effort estimation
  • Planning and leading PS delivery tasks and projects
  • Predicting, measuring, monitoring and presenting outcomes
  • Management of 3rd party vendors engaged on project delivery
  • You will be an Ambassador for Verizon Professional Services throughout the organization and amongst clients and partners.
  • You will work with minimal supervision as an individual contributor and as lead for Professional Services team when appropriate alongside of mentoring other team members
  • You will need to manage technical contribution of matrix team(s) of UC&C Consultants and Engineers toward successful project completion
  • You will contribute for developing and documenting practice delivery methodology, working processes/practices and frameworks
  • You will travel throughout Asia Pacific on delivery of our service offerings.

Qualifications

  • You should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualification
  • You must have minimum 10 plus years of directly related Consulting experience (especially Professional Services) managing “Asia Pacific” portfolio with proven track record of successful consulting and delivery assignments
  • You must hold current technology certifications in Cisco, Unify or Microsoft
  • You should have experience which include integration of Enterprise applications into Communications technology for provisioning and session control purposes
  • You must have sound technical knowledge and understanding of Unified Communication Systems architectures and the underlying converged Network infrastructure.
  • You need to have the ability to produce a wide range of documentation e.g. Statement of Work (SoW), Requirement Specifications, High Level Designs (HLD), Business Justification, Discovery / Assessment Reports etc..,
  • You must have Strong people/communications skills (e.g. ability to inspire, provide clear direction, gain buy-in, defuse conflict, empathize, educate) and also be able to,
    • Effectively and confidently communicate at ‘C’ Level
    • Innovate and provide thought leadership
    • Problem solve at a business and technical level
    • Be persuasive, able to communicate a convincing case
    • Present complex concepts and technology in a straightforward and compelling way
    • Make good decisions and be seen to be trustworthy by client
    • Engage with stakeholders at all levels within the customer and Verizon, including senior management and board level.
    • Engage with both business and IT stakeholders and able to talk their language and understand their issues
    • Ability to build professional relationships with colleagues,  customers and partners
  • You must be able to work under pressure, often timelines will be short and expectations are high i.e produce quality deliverables in demanding timescales
  • You must be willing to travel up to 50% across APAC regions
