Responsibilities

Responsible for Engineering and Design of all cell equipment in the New England West markets (CT, VT & Western MA).


Specific responsibilities include:

Planning

Engineering, provisioning and implementation of Alcatel Lucent eNBs, power plant systems and various antenna systems.

Track order status in various databases and come prepared to meetings to give updates/ready dates.

Develop planning report/forecast for cell sites to be utilized by Region & HQ,  Included but not limited to equipment counts, types, hardware versions, software levels, network needs, space and power.



Budgeting

Experience in managing budgets (PeopleSoft skills a plus)

Work closely with Area Planning team and Manager to prepare and review annual budget

Track all Capital requirements related to the cell sites

Monitor/Track all equipment expenditures

Prepare requests for purchase orders and ensure vendor invoicing
 


Equipment Procurement & Optimization

Ensure optimum cell equipment engineering

Coordinate installations with various VZW departments, contractors and installation vendors

Oversee equipment installation and acceptance

Create Standards documents and ensure vendor compliance



Project Management

Project management skills are needed for this position

Design, engineer, procure and manage the turn-up of new cell sites and growth of embedded base. Desired experience with Alcatel Lucent BTS equipment. Must be self-motivated and have ability to complete tasks with little supervision

Strong Project Management and communication skills with the ability to work closely with team members.

Qualifications

B.S Degree EE, Computer Systems Engineering, Comp Science or Math preferred

Desired 5 yrs Telecommunications experience

Working knowledge of Windows & MSOffice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)

Candidate must be a self-starter

Candidate must be capable of working both independently and on a team.

One-year experience with wireless networking preferred.

Desired experience with cable management and physical connectivity

Valid driver’s license
