Responsibilities

Security Analysts are the workhorses of the Security Operations Centre. Candidates will come from an enterprise background with at least two years working in a security related field. They undertake a wide variety of tasks across a number of different platforms. Analysts are expected to undertake work at short notice and see it through to completion with no supervision. Multi-tasking is a crucial skill to handle competing interests, along with the ability to prioritise work and synchronise with the Duty Manager and customers. They provide value added services to Security customers, leveraging their extensive knowledge to provide context to events. Analysts need to be proactive and competent in problem management identification and resolution.

Duties:

  • Intrusion Detection analysis
  • Working complex customer tickets to completion within SLA
  • Simple and Complex change control for managed devices
  • Call handling
  • Escalation point for device health management
  • Documentation of Procedures
  • Coordinate with Senior Analysts / Duty Manager for High Priority incidents.
  • Identification and resolution of recurring incidents for problem management

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers to understand their requirements
  • Clear and concise written and oral English
  • Ability to follow and create procedural documentation
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent length of enterprise experience with a focus on Security
  • Commitment to personal improvement, eg evidence of technical training
  • Proactive in following up on customer issues and quality ticketing practices

 

Preferred Skills:

  • ITIL Foundations training / certification
  • 2 years enterprise security experience
  • Dutch, French, German language skills
  • Experience in Cisco, Checkpoint, Linux, Juniper, Windows, IDS, Proxies, Mail, LDAP
  • Security Certifications eg CCNA, CCSA, CISSP
