The Senior Consultant role within Vendor Management is part of the IT Strategy and Planning team.  This position will focus on all aspects related to the Management of IT Vendor Software and Hardware Suppliers.  Proactive daily interaction is required to complete these actives, which will require teaming with Sourcing, IT Application and Legal organizations.  Some of the responsibilities, but not limited, are: Contract Negotiations, Inventory Analysis, Executive Briefs, Department Plan Submission, and Vendor Elimination/Alignment.  These activities require a full enterprise view of how the supplier is engaged with Verizon Enterprise wide.  Additional duties include executive status, special projects to drive cost reduction initiatives within and across organizations, transformation initiatives, and rationalization efforts to maximize vendor contracts and products while reducing operational expense. Incumbent must have strong leadership skills and the ability to produce accurate consistent results related to SOWs, contract negotiations, and entitlement/licensing reporting.    



  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or equivalent work experience
  • MBA and licensing control certifications desired
  • 5+ or more experience in directly related roles
  • Project Management Skills
  • License and Contract Review and Interpretations
  • License and Inventory monitoring and analysis
  • Ability to facilitate group meetings/discussions
  • Demonstrate decision making and problem solving techniques 
  • Strong Written and Oral Presentation Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors at one time
  • Strong working knowledge of hardware/software licensing models and techniques
  • Microsoft suite proficient level of expertise in: Excel, Word, Pivot Tables and Power Point
