The Creative Design Consultant will help the creative team produce agency-level work in support of internal and external clients (including premium brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and State Farm). The Creative Services group serves as an in-house agency, producing marketing communications (MARCOM) for internal and external audiences, both B2B and B2C. MARCOM includes materials in a broad range of media and formats, including digital, video, print and direct response.
The work of the Creative Services group is guided by research, knowledge of fundamental communications principles, talent and passion. This is a highly collaborative environment, fast-paced and deadline oriented, more akin – in spirit – to an agency environment than to an in-house team. However, it remains firmly rooted in the corporate environment of a Fortune 20 company and must work within the guiding principles and rules of that environment. Ideal candidates should possess a sophisticated knowledge of design and communiations principles, a passion for the work and proven department/agency/studio management skills.
This role requires a deep understanding of audiences, audience segmentation and audience needs/requirements, in order to manage the creative development of a design strategy from concept through implementation and execution.
The Creative Design Consultant is a creative "rock star" and will be able to
- Mentor an advise a team of designers to achieve new levels of design sophistication and effectiveness.
- Use design to create innovative ways to connect customers with the Verizon services that help build lasting relationships.
- Lead the creative team's concept reviews and presentations.
- Develop and adhere to an efficient creative process in order to meet clients short term needs, without sacrificing quality.
The Creative Design Consultant will have a solid understanding of design principles and marketing strategy and therefore is able to translate this into effective design solutions for Verizon and partner brands.

In collaboration with creative team members, push the state-of-the-art with every creation and drive quality and efficiency while keeping business objectives at the forefront of the delivery.
Develop concepts for creative programs that include web, direct mail, print collateral and social media. Guides execution with internal design team or outside suppliers like photographers, illustrators and videographers.
Intelligently solve complex challenges, and have an ability to simplify complexity. Must be comfortable in a dynamic technology environment where many moving parts are influencing the creative delivery.
Establish and apply brand standards while providing sophisticated creative solutions.
Support the project management team by articulating the appropriate requirements for a creative project. Communicates ideas clearly and persuasively at individual and group level, to internal and external audiences.
Scopes out creative delivery in order to provide stakeholders with solid deadlines and delivery expectations.
Seeks the right input and statistics in order to lift the creative to a strategic level.
Develops with the creative team and presents benchmarking, industry 'best practices' and summaries of analytics in order to 'ground' a creative strategy.
Mentoring designers to achieve new levels of excellence.

The Creative Design Consultant will have a solid understanding of design principles and marketing strategies and therefore able to translate this into effective design solutions for Verizon brands and Partner brands (StateFarm, MercedesBenz, Volkswagen) in order to increase the effectiveness of all touch points along the consumer purchasing journey.
Must be a creative and effective thinker with the ability to think outside-the-box, while at the same time maintaining acceptable corporate standards and sensibilities.
Must exhibit strong verbal skills and the ability to effectively present conceptual strategies and ideas to team members and department management. Should be detail-oriented without getting stuck in or derailed by the details.
This position also requires experience with the brand creation process; knowledge of product and brand positioning, messaging and differentiation; demonstrated expertise of print and online communication strategies.
Identifies milestones, sets priorities and goals, makes action plans to manage own time to meet deadlines across many projects.
Manages design programs across internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.
