This position reports to the Director of Pension & Benefits and focuses on pension and benefits related treasury activity.  The utilization of finance, economics, and accounting skills will be essential to support complex assignments and projects for the Treasury Group.    Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supports the team by being a subject matter expert regarding all aspects of pension and benefit finance.  Examples include; budgeting, forecasting, valuations, regulation, and funding.
  • Develops pension and benefit aspects of the annual committed view and subsequent best views.
  • Manages finance analysis of monthly accounting close results in support of accurate, timely, and reliable general ledger accounting data and reporting actual results against plan and budget views.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate/legal requirements (i.e. compliance with Sarbanes Oxley).
  • Work with various functional groups in the organization to compile all the necessary data needed to support business partners including; audit support, labor relations, tax strategies, and M&A projects.
  • Supports and provides guidance to the group to complete complex finance projects and delivery of key initiatives.
  • Addresses, as needed, escalations from internal customers and responds to customer inquiries on complex issues as a subject matter expert, ensuring issue and error resolution.
  • Acts as a project manager for large and/or complex projects.
  • Identifies and drives improvement opportunities for Pension and Benefits Finance and works closely with the internal business partners (accounting and FP&A) and service providers (actuaries and legal) to ensure improvement opportunities are implemented to provide timely, accurate information.
  • Assist managing the relationship with external service providers and consultants assessing the services delivered, validating the work product, and interpreting the information for internal business partners.  
  • Interacts with other functional areas of the company, collaborating and participating in discussions involving pension and benefit finance issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of management and ad hoc presentations.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of Finance or Accounting experience
  • Strong financial, analytical, communications and professional skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communications skills

Desired Skills

  • MBA in Finance or related field
  • CTP or CPA
