Responsibilities

 

OVERVIEW

The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist is responsible for the coordinate the development, delivery mechanisms and ongoing maintenance to insure that SLA reports and contractually required reports are provided to the customer. Work closely with network management system owners to develop and maintain reporting documentation. Maintain System Engineering Operations Report (SEOR), Request for Proposal (RFP) & Technical Proposal response, design & support.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs test cases, creates documents and analyzes Priority Telecommunications Services from reports.
  • Create test cases for the verification of the GETS services on the wireline switches.
  • Compiles engineering project proposals to define goals, identify scope, background and need, and ascertain cost of equipment, parts and services
  • Evaluates new products and services from vendors ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the provision of Priority Telecommunications Services
  • Prepares and interprets specifications, drawings and regulations for Priority Telecommunications Services
  • Identifies and analyzes problems and needs of existing Priority Telecommunications Services to determine the most appropriate means of reducing, eliminating and avoiding current and future problems
  • Apply practical skills and experience across many application and infrastructure (operational) products, technologies, and services.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate standards in the creation and implementation of the solution whenever project requirements call for or would benefit from the use of standards
  • Work closely with vendor and internal technical teams to deliver technical solutions to the customer
  • Mediate opposing viewpoints and negotiate equitable solutions to ensure successful and stable outcomes.
  • Help to define Priority Services architectural roadmap and prepare for business need.
  • Maintain a baseline of industry knowledge to advice on technical trends and techniques and apply them to the development of solution designs

 

 

Qualifications

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of voice network architecture and design disciplines, operational support familiarity, previous and current extensive hands-on implementation and thorough configuration knowledge and capabilities.
  • Understanding of Telco practices for TDM voice service.
  • General Knowledge of best practices with Telephony Switch networks using switching interfaces.
  • Understanding of the North American Number Plan.
  • Strong understanding and work experience in wireless and wireline business areas.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Network Engineering with five or more years of directly related experience in a telecommunications service provider network.
  • At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification

The successful applicant must undergo a background investigation and receive a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check, Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
