Senior Product Marketing Specialist - Advertising and Commerce

Responsibilities

Verizon is seeking a skilled Product Marketer to help grow the Advertising, Analytics and Commerce businesses through marketing and new product ideation efforts.  Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing, this role will support the Emerging Products organization to drive the day-to-day management of the 4 Ps for both existing and new offerings.  The Senior Consultant will serve as subject-matter expert to the Marketing Communications team for the development of new collateral and also contribute to workstreams to identify and evaluate new product opportunities. 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the Digital advertising, Television advertising and Digital commerce markets in addition to past successes marketing complex technical solutions to both B2B and B2C audiences.  It is extremely important for the candidate to possess a deep understanding of digital publishers and developers, and the challenges they face in monetizing and optimizing their digital properties.

By combining this expertise with new knowledge of emerging Verizon products and solutions the Senior Consultant will shape product packaging, collaborate on pricing, help refine value propositions and determine positioning for target customers, partners and other value chain stakeholders.  He/she will work across Marketing, Product, Business Development and Sales teams to synthesize market insights, direct customer feedback and technical capabilities to inform Product Marketing strategy and tactics.    

The Senior Consultant should have product marketing or product management experience in the Agency, Ad tech, or Technology (consumer-facing, business-facing) spaces.  While an engineering degree is not required, the candidate must be able to quickly understand technical capabilities and how they impact the 4 Ps.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 7+ years experience developing, managing and executing product marketing strategies and plans in a Brand or Product Marketing role for new and existing products.
  • Expertise in Agency, Ad tech or Technology (consumer-facing, business-facing) spaces is highly desired.
  • Experience with both Digital and Television advertising highly desired.
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C technology products is a plus.
  • Experience working with Digital Publishers and Developers

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Technology, Advertising/Marketing, Media and Mobile space
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships with internal teams (i.e. Sales, Product, Business Development, VZ/VZW Marketing), external agencies and management staff required
  • Demonstrated ability to take feedback from prospects, customers, partners and the industry and appropriately integrate back into marketing planning, strategy and tactics
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, strategic planning, and process development skills, sharp business judgment, and high level of initiative is required
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate clear messaging and value propositions for complex product portfolios and drive consistent communication across teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required
  • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to conflicting priorities, continuously prioritize and reprioritize deliverables, and to respond to unexpected changes is required

Education:

  • MBA plus 5 years of post-MBA Marketing experience preferred OR
  • BA/BS (Business, Marketing or similar) plus 8 years post-BA Marketing experience
