Responsibilities

The Supervisor Interconnect reports to the Area Manager Interconnect and is accountable for the timely and accurate payment of telecom invoices and overall expense management processing functions for Direct Telecom for the Northeast Area.  The candidate must provide leadership, supervision and development to a group of DT Engineers who in turn support the Regions and Area with the day-to-day processing, disputing, reporting, and payment of facility, switched access, and interconnection invoices.  Duties and responsibilities include the following:

Manage and develop a team of engineers who perform the daily functions associated with paying Direct Telecom invoices.  Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.  Ensure bills are accurate; track disputes of bills to ensure accurate and timely resolution.  Utilize area team structure to distribute workload as needed.   Hiring and writing and delivery of performance appraisals also required.

 Standardize methods and procedures of bill payment functions across the Northeast Area.  Ensure these processes support HQ guidance and enterprise standards.  Continuously review standards and implement changes at an Area level as required. Provide end user support and direction for day-to-day operations of cost management systems, timely processing/approval of direct telecom invoice management work groups.  Provide problem resolution to work groups.  

 Represent the Northeast Area on the enterprise team that develops invoice payment and analysis systems.  Provide support for loading data into new modules.  Drive efforts to get more suppliers using electronic invoicing.  Lead analysis for billing related Audits and ckt cost validation.  Additional assignments may regularly include Area special projects, customer support initiatives, internal and external communications, and project coordination between other organizations, regions, areas and headquarters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience preferably in Transport.
  • Previous staff management experience, preferably including management of remote staff is desirable.
  • Desired knowledge of Billing and Dispute systems.
  • Experience needed in systems development lifecycle management, business case development, industry billing standards, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of interconnect concepts and theory.
  • Demonstrated strong technical, planning, statistical, analytical abilities and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within a highly changing and demanding environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplinary boundaries.
  • Knowledge of wireless telecommunication, wireless network service performance tools and methodologies and computer communication systems.
  • Knowledge of network security management.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Knowledge of Budget process desirable.
  • Financial Background desirable.
