•             Build new Oracle production RAC databases, migrate existing production Oracle RAC 10gR2 databases to Oracle 11g R2 RAC databases; and patch Oracle production RAC databases hosted on a Linux environment (RHEL and OEL 5ux).

•             Deploy Oracle technologies (e.g., RAC, ASM, OEM/Grid, RMAN, Partitioning, Active Data Guard, Oracle Streams, and Data Compression) in production environments.

•             Adhere to standard build documentation and best practices as well as refining these based on experience and new findings from database vendors.

•             Provide design assistance, analyze and manage database solutions with technical emphasis in performance monitoring, problem identification and resolution.

•             Plan and communicate such deployments and upgrades in an environment with formal change control processes and compliance processes (e.g., SOX, PCI, and SAS70).

•             Work with Oracle Support Services to resolve issues and become familiar with Oracle’s escalation procedures to use as needed. 

•             Conduct ongoing capacity planning for production database environment to include growth projections and disk space reclamation; query performance tuning of existing applications, etc.

•             Tune and maintain technical integrity, and monitoring of the operational efficiency of application databases in support of internal and external customers.


•             BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology.

•             Experience with installations and upgrades of Oracle server software, creating databases, database objects, users, roles, etc.  

•             Experience managing data, loading into databases, as well as with data replication techniques.

•             Experience with Dataguard or Streams/Goldengate.   Desire GoldenGate experience.  

•             Extensive experience supporting 75 plus databases, performance tuning, and support of Grid Control.  

•             Ability to configure and manage Oracle Dataguard and have some disaster recovery experience.  

•             Experience with OID, OIM, Siebel, ERP, AIA, CCA, OEM/GC preferred. 

•             Experience with Oracle 10g/11g/RAC database and application services including installation, maintenance, monitoring, deep tuning, services management, resource profiling.

•             Experience with Oracle e-business suite 11g

•             Experience with PL/SQL, SQL Plus, CRON, stored procedures/packages, import/export, database administration and replication, shell scripting.  Linux experience.  SAN / NAS experience.  Grid control experience.  Virtualization experience (VMware preferred).

•             Strong knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters on Linux.   Knowledgeable in tuning and debugging and be able to generate reports.  

•             Must be able to excel working as a member of the database administrators’ team and proactively engage application stakeholders and drive excellence into the managing of the company’s data.  

•             Extensive knowledge of physical database design.

•             Must be able to work with the existing DBAs and other IT teams to debug and resolve critical issues and proactively communicate status to management.

•             Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and guidance

  • Lead should have 8 - 10 years in the IT infrastructure customer support environment where he handled global customer’s calls, email and alerts.
  • Managing and leading the project team.
  • Recruiting project staff and consultants.
  • Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work.
  • Detailed project planning and control including:
    1. Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan.
    2. Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan.
    3. Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary.
    4. Resolving cross-functional issues at project level.
    5. Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary.
    6. Monitoring project progress and performance.
    7. Providing status reports to the project manager.
  • Liaises with, and updates progress to, project board/senior management.
  • Managing project evaluation and dissemination activities.
  • Working closely with users to ensure the project meets business needs.
  • Identifying user training needs and devising and managing user training programs.
  • Lead should possess very good communication in terms of listening, oral and written.
