Responsibilities

Wireline Enterprise Development Manager.


Position manages the ProQuest presale application which provides the quoting and ordering functions of End to End Integration (a company-wide IT and business transformation). Position will have 5 or more direct reports and varying numbers of contractors. Position is also responsible for performance of corresponding offshore team members (varying from 5 to 15 in number).

Consistently leads multiple corporate strategic projects with high level of technical complexity. Must be able to provide complex architectural recommendations, optimized design solutions, and smart implementation strategy for their area.


Must have in depth knowledge of VRD product sets, infrastructure, interdependencies. Must be able to handle multiple competing priorities in a very fast pace and highly visible/mission critical environment. Must be able to manage executive level oral & written briefs to keep sr. leadership, IT, and business partners fully abreast of all challenges & projects. Must be able to manage a global program environment supporting US, VDSI, EMEA, Asia Pac IT & business partners.

 

Must have strong self-initiation, independence, leadership skills. Must be able to build a solid & competent  team. Must conduct close coaching & grooming of staff to achieve committed departmental & corporate objectives.

 

Must have a strong ability to prioritize competing demands from the development, testing, project delivery and production support activities in a global project environment  in support of the primary application ProQuest, the investment engine for E2Ei quoting and ordering.

 

Responsible for supervising & matrix managing a cross-functional team of employees and contractors including project and task planning, project impact assessment, and  resource assignments. Additionally will be responsible for coaching & counseling employees, directing the work of employees, managing the performance of the employees including setting objectives, assessing performance. Will participate in hiring and pay increases processes.

 

Must be able to:

  • Present, justify and discuss project activities and limitations with direct/indirect management team and executive management (ED, VP and when needed at the CIO level)
  • Able to operate with broad direction
  • Deal with various team composition and sizing
  • Provide technical direction for medium and large sized projects
  • Work independently and also closely with other department management team members
  • Develop solid knowledge of business operation
  • Develop solid partnership with business stakeholders
  • Lead the removal of challenging roadblocks hindering the progress of the dept/company
  • Aggressively challenge all limitations with the out-of-the-box agile solutions
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities to successful completion
  • Creative & agile development mindset leading both business & IT to deliver wow factor

Qualifications

 

 

*Required Skills & Experience

 
  • Able to effectively-manage a cross-functional team located around the world
  • Strong SQL skills preferably in Oracle 11g
  • Strong programming background in Java, HTML and JavaScript
  • Past experience with web services and IBM MQ messaging
  • Ability to deliver production applications components and support E2E test requirements
  • Ability to provide clear and concise reporting and action plans for: release management, testing issues, and project defects
  • Ability to partner with business stakeholders and other technical teams
  • Adapts to business transformation and a high-rate of technical change

Education and Experience

 

Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science. Generally requires minimum of 3 yrs. Experience in a related discipline.
