Responsibilities

 

This Recruiter - Talent Connector position is responsible for facilitating the candidate-facing aspects of the recruiting process; and for partnering with Partner Recruiter - Talent Finders, Hiring Managers, Diversity/College Recruiters and candidates, as appropriate, to ensure quality candidate experience and that top candidates progress through the recruiting process.

Candidate Sourcing:  Attends career fairs, college recruiting events, open houses and other community events to establish presence, strengthen Verizon Wireless employment brand, and create fluid, diverse candidate funnel for open positions.  Builds strategic relationships with recruiting partners such as colleges/universities and community organizations.  Travel is required (20-40% of time).

Job Creation:  Creates job opening descriptions, facilitates description approval process and partners with Recruiter - Talent Finder to ensure openings are posted.

Interviewing and Assessment:  Partners with Local HR Department to ensure scheduling of on-site pre-hire assessment.  Interviews candidates who have passed phone screening (and pre-hire assessment).  Assesses candidates on a multitude of aspects and determines top candidates to be interviewed by Hiring Manager.

Coordination with Hiring Manager:  Provides candidate feedback to Hiring Manger.  Liaises with candidates and Hiring Manager to ensure scheduling/execution of Hiring Manager interviews.  Collects Hiring Manager feedback post-interviews, calculates salary of top candidate and communicates hire decisions for offers to be made by Recruiter - Talent Finder. 

Metrics:  Holds responsibility for meeting recruiting targets including:  Time to fill; diversity of candidate slate; college hires; new hire turnover.

Qualifications

 

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years Human Resources experience with at least 2 years of high volume sourcing/recruiting experience required
• Strong computer skills and ability to utilize HRIS system; PeopleSoft experience preferred; proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to assess candidates and make critical decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Facilitation/training skills preferred
• Ability to travel up to 40% of time
• Internet and tech savvy
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed

Must have experience building successful,  productive relationships with senior members of leadership and local HR counterparts to work through headcount challenges.  Also must have an established network of contacts with community organizations and educational institutions to be considered.  Full-cycle call center and sales recruiting experience required.
