  9. What will happen to my verizon.net email sub-accounts?

If you previously accessed your mail on the Verizon platform, each verizon.net email associated with your account will be treated separately. Each account will need to be registered with AOL Mail individually. The timing of the migration to AOL for the parent account and associated child accounts may be different, so do not be alarmed if you get a message for one and not the other. All accounts will ultimately enjoy all the benefits of free AOL mail including virus protection, advanced spam filters and more.

If I aggregated or combined other email accounts, such as Hotmail or Gmail, into my verizon.net account at Yahoo, will I be able to access them in AOL Mail? Only your Verizon.net email will be accessible at mail.aol.com or in the AOL app. If you would like to combine multiple email addresses into one inbox, you might consider using AOL’s Alto Mail mobile app. You can download the Alto mobile app in the Google Play or Apple App Store.

We will move all of your verizon.net messages, folders, and contacts to AOL so you will have all of your content as soon as you register and accept the AOL Terms of Service. If you use an email application, like Outlook, your email is automatically backed up with a copy stored to your PC.

  15. I used my verizon.net email to register for Flickr, Yahoo Groups and/or Yahoo Finance. Will I continue to have access to those services once my verizon.net mail moves to AOL Mail?

If you use your verizon.net account to access Flickr, you must update your login ID to another Yahoo account. This action MUST be taken BEFORE you receive the notification that it is time to make the move to AOL Mail or you will lose access to your Flickr account and stored photos/videos. You can complete this process at aol.it/flickr.

If you use your verizon.net account to access other Yahoo services, such as Yahoo Finance or Groups, you will no longer have access to those accounts. You must use an existing or new Yahoo account to use those services in the future. It is a good idea to take a screen shot or print out any information you want to retain before you migrate your verizon.net account to AOL mail. Then you can mirror that information within your new Yahoo account.
