Danish Foreign Ministry Signs Four-Year Global Communications Contract with WorldCom

ALBERTSLUND - 5 October 2000 - WorldCom today announced the
signing of a four-year contract worth several hundred million krone
with the Danish Foreign Ministry. The contract for the supply of data
and voice communications services to and between 91 of the Ministry's
representative offices around the world - including embassies and
consulates - is based on WorldCom's global network capability.

The contract was tendered and won in accordance with EU procurement
regulations.

"We received several qualified bids for the project. In our
choice of communications provider, we stressed many factors such as
price, delivery time, customer service and possibilities for expansion.
We chose WorldCom after having considered all the bids and comparing
them with our specification of requirements. We look forward to giving
our staff all over the world access to WorldCom's communications
services," said Foreign Ministry Head of Division, Bo Eric
Weber.

"The solution we've chosen ensures that we will be able to
communicate with all our overseas staff far more efficiently than
previously, thus ensuring a realization of our virtual organization
strategy."

WorldCom in Denmark is delighted to have won the new contract.
"The global solution that the Danish Foreign Ministry has been
looking for - and has now found - illustrates what WorldCom can offer
Danish businesses in general. Our strategy is to be the premier
supplier of end-to-end communications services around the globe. With
offices in more than 65 countries and our own global fiber-optic
network, we can assume responsibility for corporate communications
solutions on both a national and international scale," said René
Buch, WorldCom Country Director.
