Verizon Terremark CTO John Considine participated in Light Reading’s recent Big Telecom Event (June 17-18) in Chicago with a keynote on the State of the Enterprise Cloud in which he shared insights around how cloud is fundamentally disrupting traditional business and operational models across the enterprise. Considine spoke to how IT’s relationship with the cloud has evolved from the ‘shadow IT’ era of a few years ago to today when cloud is being embraced. He also commented on how cloud can break the ‘Catch 22’ that IT faces when trying to both secure and innovate. Further, he addressed the rise of SDN (Software Defined Networking) noting a recognition that as more becomes virtualized, additional control and automation of the infrastructure is needed which is where SDN is coming into play.
