Last month, Verizon focused on the importance of an inclusive culture for business success with its annual Global Women's Summit, which brought together a broad global audience, both live and through the power of our technology, for a day of lively global discussion and debate. You might not have been in the room, but you can now join the sessions via our YouTube channel.
Available video segments are as follows:
- Cherie Blair, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women - keynote
- Melinda Marshall, Centre for Talent and Innovation – the business case for diversity
- External panel - featuring speakers from G9+, National Grid and Tesco
Opportunity Now's Project 28-40 research was also discussed at the event – you can read the report here. And finally, a blog post summarizing activity and bringing together video footage from all Verizon's events around the globe can also be seen here.
Obviously, this event centered on gender, but this is just one small element of Verizon's focus on the topic. "Verizon's diversity strategy is focused on maintaining a culture of diversity and inclusion, one that benefits our employees, shareholders and customers. It also allows us to tap into the creativity and vitality of our workforce and suppliers," said Magda Yrizarry, Verizon's chief talent and diversity officer. "We know that an inclusive workforce possesses a variety of skills necessary to solve our clients' complex challenges. Our inclusive culture is a source of innovation, enrichment and new thinking."
