ASHBURN, Va., April 22, 2003 - MCI today announced that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has selected MCI as an authorized provider for Network, Hosting and Data Center Services. Under terms of the contract, MCI will be eligible to provide services to state, local and regional government organizations, schools and hospitals throughout the commonwealth.

MCI will offer Massachusetts agencies a range of Web hosting services from Internet and network colocation to complex managed hosting solutions with the support of its managed application and hosting affiliate Digex (OTCBB: DIGX). MCI's advanced services will enable Massachusetts's government entities to quickly, securely and cost-effectively automate their systems while allowing them to focus on serving the needs of their constituents.
