Bell Atlantic Adds Internet Guide to Yellow Pages In Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Essex Counties, N.J.

has just what you need -- a how-to guide to the Internet. Offered free
to consumers, the new Internet Guide will be bound inside the Bell
Atlantic Yellow Pages for Camden, Gloucester, Burlington and Essex counties
in New Jersey.
The Internet Guide is a primer for novices to the Internet in easy to
understand language. It provides an overview and simple step-by-step
instructions for getting started on the Internet and the World Wide
Web. The Internet Guide also has a corresponding web site published
by Bell Atlantic Electronic Publishing, Inc., at http://www.iosg.com.
"As technology and the marketplace evolve, so do the genuine Bell
Atlantic Yellow Pages," said Greg Hanifee, Bell Atlantic Internet
Guide product manager. "With the rapid growth of the Internet and the
shift from techie' to mainstream usage, we believe that consumers will
benefit from a how-to guide. It is a natural fit to incorporate
useful, basic information on the Internet in the Yellow Pages."
Internet Guide sections include: Welcome to Cyberspace, Getting
Started, The Basic Gear, Connecting to the Web, Internet Suite
Software, Shopping for an Internet Service Provider, How to Find
Anything on the Web, The Top Web Sites, Learning the Lingo and
Users can begin by reviewing the chart of recommended minimum hardware
specifications for buying a new PC or Macintosh* computer that
supports basic or faster Internet access. The Internet Guide helps
them evaluate their own needs before selecting an Internet service
provider or online service. Once these basic elements are
established, the Internet Guide explains how navigational tools locate
topic specific information on the World Wide Web. It also lists
recommended sites to enhance the surfing experience.
The Internet Guide, located in the front of the directory, will become
a standard part of many of the Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages directories
over the next two years. The full color Internet Guide is printed on
durable, coated paper. It is marked with a tab in the front of the
directory to make the Internet Guide easy to find.
Bell Atlantic collaborated with HomePC magazine to develop content for
the Internet Guide. HomePC magazine provides evaluations and
information on computer related technologies, the Internet and online
services. The Internet Guide was written by the editors of HomePC

The Internet Guide provides an advertising vehicle for related
businesses to target customers. Several advertising opportunities are
available including: premium space on the Internet Guide tab, display
space in the Internet Guide and categorized web sites.
Bell Atlantic has delivered the Internet Guide in the
Loudoun/Fauquier, Va., and Elizabeth, N.J., Yellow Pages.
