NEW YORK -- Jazz fans with the right connections will get the best seats
in the house today through June 13 at the Bell Atlantic Jazz Festival
produced by KnitMedia. Those with Bell Atlantic's Infospeedsm DSL
(digital subscriber line) service and Bell Atlantic.net Internet access will
be able to enjoy the sounds of jazz legends with just a click of their mouse.

Bell Atlantic will broadcast jazz festival performances live from New
York City over the Internet, providing the first live Webcasts to the
company's Infospeed DSL customers in the Northeast via the festival's
Web site at http://www.jazfest.com. Concerts will be held from
8 p.m. to midnight each evening.

Bell Atlantic will provide streaming video of the evening concerts at 256
Kbps (kilobits per second), 56.6 Kbps and 28.8 Kbps. Internet users with
analog modems also will be able to hear and watch the concerts, but those
using Infospeed DSL with Bell Atlantic.net Internet access will receive
higher quality audio and video of the performances.

In addition to the live concerts, visitors to the jazz festival Web site will be
able to access archived performances and also go backstage to see
interviews with jazz festival performers.

Bell Atlantic Infospeed DSL service is available today in parts of the
Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas
as well as in Hudson River waterfront communities in New Jersey. The
service will be available later this month in New York City and in other
communities throughout Bell Atlantic's service area later this year.

Infospeed DSL is Bell Atlantic's brand name for ADSL, or Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line technology, which provides Internet access to
consumers at speeds up to 126 times faster than that afforded by a 56
kilobits per second (Kbps) modem. By taking advantage of unused
capacity available in existing telephone lines, the technology allows
consumers to use a single phone line to send faxes or make phone calls
while they're surfing the Internet.

Information on the jazz festival is available on the Web at
http://www.jazfest.com.
