SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - Four thousand more Vermont consumers and businesses now have access to Verizon High Speed Internet, allowing them to quickly download movies, share photos or video with friends and family, and create their own Internet content.
Over the past month, Verizon has upgraded customer phone lines in Bakersfield, Rockingham, Salisbury, Sunderland and West Hartford for high-speed Internet service, based on DSL technology. Verizon also expanded the service in Bennington, Castleton (Fair Haven Exchange), Jericho, Ferrisburg, Middlebury, Morrisville, Rutland, Shelburne, Wardsboro and Wilmington.
Between now and Jan. 5, 2008, qualifying customers who sign up online for Verizon High Speed Internet with a two-year commitment will pay the same low monthly base rate for as long as they keep the Internet service over a Verizon phone line.

Qualified customers who go online to order Verizon High Speed Internet service with a connection speed of up to 768 Kbps (kilobits per second) and a two-year commitment will pay $14.99 a month for as long as they subscribe to the price-for-life plan. The same plan applies for Verizon's 3 Mbps (megabits per second) service, which is available online for $27.99 a month.
