FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Spurred by a significant increase in demand for its FiOS services, Verizon is hiring 110 more employees to deploy and install the fiber-optic-based Internet and TV services in northern Virginia.

The company is seeking to hire cable splicing and outside plant technicians.  These employees and others support customers who purchase FiOS services.  Verizon delivers FiOS Internet Service and FiOS TV over the nation's most comprehensive fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network.  Only Verizon's FTTP network has earned the certification of the independent Fiber to the Home Council for providing fiber all the way to customers' homes.

The company is building its all-fiber network in much of northern Virginia, as well as other parts of Virginia and 15 other states where it provides landline phone service.

Starting wages for the 110 jobs are $570-$1,191 a week (depending on experience and education).  Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, life insurance and a vision-care plan, as well as a 401(k) plan, paid vacation and tuition benefits.
