NEW YORK - Verizon customers can celebrate the Lunar New Year with Verizon eCards, an exciting feature of the newly launched Verizon Chinese and Korean micro Web sites that are designed to support Asian customers in doing business online with Verizon. From Lunar New Year wishes to a simple "hello," Verizon eCards are the perfect way to surprise a friend or loved one on any occasion.
The eCard illustrations were designed exclusively for Verizon, and each card highlights one of the 12 animals from the Asian zodiac: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and boar. Like its Western counterpart, the Asian Zodiac is based in part on the idea that people born in the same time period tend to share certain personality traits. For example, those born in 2007, the year of the pig, are said to be blessed with fortune, wealth and abundance. Every Verizon eCard colorfully reflects the qualities of its respective zodiac symbol.
Verizon eCards are a part of Verizon's integrated interactive marketing campaign designed to please Asian customers. Verizon's new Chinese and Korean microsites offer customers an opportunity to learn more about Verizon services in their respective languages. The theme for the microsites is based on Verizon's "The Big Three" advertising campaign, which highlights Verizon's three most popular services - Verizon High Speed Internet, Verizon Freedom Value and DIRECTV® service through Verizon.
In addition to eCards, Verizon is celebrating the Lunar New Year as a sponsor of two events - the 8th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Festival, and the 4th Annual Lunar New Year Flower Market at Columbus Park. Over the years, Verizon has been a strong supporter of Asian communities around the country, a role exemplified further by Verizon's recent sponsorships of the Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival and Asian International Film Festival.
