April 26, 2001
As summer approaches, millions of local residents who head outdoors to enjoy fun in the sun throughout the Southland will rely on wireless phones to keep in touch with friends and family on the go. To help Southern California weekend warriors stay connected anywhere, Verizon Wireless has announced a national springtime promotion that gives customers 2,000 free weekend air time minutes when they sign up for selected national, regional or local digital rate plans.
For Verizon Wireless National SingleRateSM customers, the additional minutes translate into weekends of free long-distance calls on Verizon Wireless' coast-to-coast network with no roaming charges regardless of where they go in the United States. That means every call is like a local call for Southland residents who plan to travel anywhere throughout the country - coast to coast.
"Today, more Southern Californians rely on Verizon Wireless for their wireless communication needs than any other company," said Mike Finley - Regional President, Southern California.
