NEW YORK - Verizon has introduced a new, easy-to-use service that enables businesses and organizations to keep the telephone numbers and addresses of customers and key prospects up to date - just by making an appointment to speak directly to an operator. The service, Operator By Appointment, was first offered in New York state and is now available nationwide.

According to Ellen Kelly, Verizon LiveSource executive director of customer service, "Scheduling time with a LiveSource operator is a cost-effective way to ensure that customer lists are current, which can save businesses and organizations time and money.

"And by speaking directly to our experienced, well-trained operators, businesses are able to obtain this critical information as quickly as possible."

Since its launch in New York, Operator By Appointment has been used by companies to keep billing records and other customer contact information up to date.

A LiveSource operator can typically search several listings per minute, with  any combination of information  such as using a customer name and address for the correct telephone number; using the customer telephone number for the corresponding name and address; and listings by category supplied to the operator.

The cost for each appointment is $25 plus $1.50 per minute.  The service can be used by small and large businesses, as well as individuals, to create updated lists of prospective customers for service and billing needs.  For example, a small business, such as a landscaper, may want to use Operator By Appointment to update customer records before the busy spring and summer seasons.

Since Verizon LiveSource updates its database daily, recent changes in customer phone numbers or addresses are always available.  By contrast, Internet search results can have out-of-date information, which, in some cases, may mean that the correct individual will not be contacted.

Operator by Appointment is available in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  Businesses and others interested in the service can call 1-877-411-APPT (2778) to schedule an appointment or learn more about the affordable, time-saving service.
