WASHINGTON - Starting today, Verizon residential customers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., can consolidate charges for the company's local, wireless, DSL, regional toll calling and optional services on one bill.
Customers will receive postcards this week telling them they may be eligible to consolidate their billing. To sign up for ONE-BILL®, customers need to have Verizon local service and Verizon Wireless service. Both accounts must be in the same name and have good credit records.
Customers in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut already have the ONE-BILL option.
"We know our customers want the convenience of one bill for their telecommunications services," said Jill Wagner, vice president of consumer marketing for Verizon. "They want to be able to see charges for all services on one monthly statement, and they want to write one check.
"Our goal is to simplify their lives," said Wagner. "It's one of the benefits consumers want the most from today's fully competitive telecommunications marketplace."
"Today's wireless customer expects end-to-end convenience," said John Stratton, vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Wireless. "From the technology that delivers the service to the bill that provides the detail, we are pleased to offer this one-step option to our customers."
ONE-BILL customers who have registered at Verizon's Web site, www.verizon.com, can view all their Verizon charges - including Verizon Wireless - online, and they can pay their consolidated bill electronically via the Web. To register for online payments, Verizon customers need information listed on their home phone bill.
To find out if they are eligible and to order Verizon's ONE-BILL, Verizon customers can go to the company's Web site at www.verizon.com/ONE-BILL or call their local Verizon business office. There is no charge to receive the consolidated bill.
