READING, England - To help European-based companies reduce operating costs and simplify network management, Verizon Business is making it easier for these companies to make the move to voice-over-IP communications.
"Verizon Business is staying a step ahead of its competitors with its sharp focus on global enterprises voice and IP Telephony requirements, particularly in the area of SIP Trunking," said Dustin Kehoe, principal analyst at Current Analysis. "Verizon Business has the largest IP Trunking deployment in Europe with availability across eight countries. The latest offer is multisite IP Trunking, which allows enterprises to use a centralized PBX that can support locations in multiple countries and allows them to eliminate premises gateways at remote locations."
Verizon Business' premier VoIP solution - IP Trunking - now offers enterprise customers the flexibility to implement a centralized IP PBX hub in one European location and to extend VoIP services - including the enhanced features and benefits of unified communications and collaboration - to other sites across multiple European countries. This eliminates the need for in-country voice trunks and TDM/IP gateways, as well as additional IP PBXs at each site. For example, Verizon IP Trunking installed at a hub location, such as a company's headquarters in the U.K., could be used to service additional company sites located in France and Germany.
Companies would still be able to manage in-country emergency calling capabilities and use local number presence.
The new centralized model of Verizon IP Trunking is available across eight European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the U.K.
"Many European enterprises are looking to tackle the time-consuming and costly challenges of managing their voice services across Europe, and the centralized multisite, multicountry design of Verizon IP Trunking can help accomplish that," said Rebecca Carr, vice president of global enterprise marketing, Verizon Business. "Benefits are maximized and network complexity is reduced - therefore freeing up valuable time for the enterprise to focus on its own business goals.
"Verizon Business continues to expand its VoIP capabilities around the globe. Our focus is on continuing to enhance our capabilities to enable our customers to use smarter communications technologies to make a real difference to their business," Carr said.
Verizon Business IP PBX Platform Offers Even Greater Flexibility
Verizon Business, through its rigorous certification process, seeks to identify new solutions to incorporate within its overall VoIP portfolio, offering more options for IP PBX vendors. As a result, Verizon Business has certified three additional IP PBX equipment platforms. They are:
- Avaya Communication Manager 5.1, the company's flagship IP Telephony software platform.
- Avaya Communication Manager Branch, a centrally managed, session initiation protocol (SIP)-based virtual workplace communications solution that easily scales to meet the needs of large enterprises with distributed sites.
- Cisco Unified Communications 520 System, an affordable, easy-to-manage communications solution for smaller businesses, in addition to support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager for medium to large enterprises.
The new offerings are available to customers in the U.S., and in Europe in the U.K. and Belgium, Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Italy. Verizon IP Trunking is also currently available in the U.S. for local and long-distance in-country sites.
