As the moving season peaks this summer, consumers are carefully planning their relocation in advance and should consider competitive bundled packages offered by Verizon. The company, which provides voice, broadband and TV service to tens of millions of residences coast to coast, offers customized services that can ease the rigors of moving.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, an estimated 26 million U.S. households are expected to move this year. Among the top reasons people move are the need for a larger home, a job change or work-related relocation, or the desire to be located closer to a significant other, family members or an elderly parent.
"Establishing home phone, Internet and TV service are among consumers' top priorities as they attempt to get situated in their new residence," said Roger Heuring, manager of Verizon's movers program. "We want to help take some of the hassle out of moving and encourage people to call 866-VZ-MOVES or visit Movearoo.com to help answer questions about product availability and establishing service."
Verizon wireline voice, Internet or TV customers should call 1-866-VZ-MOVES (1-866-896-6837) in advance of their move to determine if Verizon's services are available in their new residence.
Verizon and other leading communications companies last year established Movearoo - Movearoo.com - a cost-free, interactive resource that delivers real-time assistance including pre- and post- moving tips for consumers, while easing the entire moving process.
By simply entering a home address, consumers can get help from Movearoo for everything from obtaining price quotes from moving companies to setting up home-related services, such as telephone, high-speed Internet, TV, electricity and natural gas.
"We encourage people who are moving to set up all essential home services available through Movearoo so the TV, computer, and phone will be up and running in the new residence," said Heuring.
Verizon provides a wide range of broadband and entertainment services and helps consumers get ultimate value by offering the services in a bundle. Depending upon location and subject to service availability, consumers can order a bundle of Verizon FiOS Internet and TV service, plus home voice service, for under $100 per month. In addition, customers can also order a bundle of Verizon's digital-subscriber-line-based High Speed Internet service, DIRECTV service and home phone service for as little as $80 per month.
Consumers on the move can get more information about Verizon's products and services and qualify to receive a $50 gift card - upon the purchase of certain services - by visiting www.verizon.com/moving.
