Verizon Global Wholesale has captured Capacity magazine's Best North American Wholesale Offering Award. The Verizon unit was cited for its wholesale services bundles for small and medium-sized businesses.
The award, presented Monday evening (Nov. 15) at the Capacity Europe 2010 wholesale telecommunications conference in Amsterdam, recognizes market players that apply effective techniques and strategies to their wholesale business, establishing themselves at the forefront of the wholesale communications industry.
"This distinguished award underscores Verizon Global Wholesale's ability in the competitive and challenging wholesale market to provide the best-in-class communications services, including a wide range of data, IP and Ethernet services, that our customers require," said Quintin Lew, senior vice president of marketing for Verizon Global Wholesale. "We're pleased to be recognized for our ability to leverage all our strengths - flexibility, reliability, innovation and value - to meet the business needs of our wholesale customers."
The judges, who consisted of Capacity's senior editorial staff and a range of senior industry analysts, selected the winners based on network investment, quality, performance and reach; speed to market; and pricing strategy.
"The judges were impressed by Verizon's wholesale services bundles that are aimed at small and medium business in the U.S.," said Eira Hayward, managing editor, Capacity magazine. "For a large company, Verizon has demonstrated relative agility in producing an offer for SMB consumption, capitalizing on fast-rising demand for IP telephony in that sector."
Added Lew, "The combination of experience, global reach and vision that makes Verizon Global Wholesale successful with larger customers is a tremendous asset in serving the needs of small and medium businesses."
