NEW YORK - Verizon LiveSource is the recipient of an award from the Pelorus Group for excellence in providing location-based directory information services.
The award, presented recently at the Pelorus DIS 2008 industry conference in Savannah, Ga., cited the company's integration of operator-assisted directory assistance calls with a navigation-based application that permits wireless 411 callers to immediately receive on their handset turn-by-turn directions to the location of the listing they requested.
Verizon LiveSource serves nearly half the U.S. wireless market with 411 local, national and enhanced directory assistance 24-hours-a-day, including such features as language preference, SMS delivery of the requested listing, and last-number reconnect for those who need to call back 411.
