DALLAS - Before they say, "Bye, Bye, Bye" to Dallas, *NSYNC will thrill and entertain thousands this weekend at Texas Stadium during its monster 2001 POPODYSSEY tour concert, co-sponsored by Verizon Long Distance. Among the concert attendees will be 15 pre-teens from The Family Place, a non-profit organization that provides services to victims of family violence.
According to Paige Flink, executive director of The Family Place, the concert will be the highlight of the children's summer. "The kids are tickled about the chance to see their favorite group, *NSYNC, in concert. We're grateful to Verizon Long Distance for giving these young people a chance to attend a concert that would otherwise be out of their reach," she said.
"We believe in being a good neighbor and giving back to the communities that support us," said Jill Wagner, vice president - Consumer Marketing for Verizon Long Distance. "One way we can do that is by having our sponsorship of the *NSYNC concert benefit some of the young people at the Family Place. I look forward to hearing the kids' shrieks when the band comes on-stage."
The popular group's 35-city, 44-concert tour began May 23 in Jacksonville, Fla. and concludes Aug. 27 in El Paso, Texas. The tour is in support of the group's new album, "Celebrity," in stores July 24.
The Family Place is a 22-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to stopping domestic violence in our community. The organization provides emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, continuing education and supportive living to victims of domestic violence and counseling to batterers.
