ROANOKE, Va. - Verizon Virginia has appointed James L. Griffith the company's area manager for western Virginia. Griffith replaces Michael Rieley and Richard Settle, who both retired last November.
In his new position, Griffith will manage Verizon's public policy programs throughout a region ranging from Staunton in the north to Danville in the south, and west to Lee County.
Griffith has held a variety of positions at Verizon since 1970 in customer service and external affairs, most recently as area manager for eastern Virginia. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Griffith and his wife, the former Lynda Null of Buchanan County, are relocating to western Virginia.
