Verizon Seeks to Fill 50 Positions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Verizon is hiring 50 customer contact representatives to handle incoming calls from customers requesting new services, changes or other services, and to recommend services and products to meet specific needs. The jobs are located in Fort Wayne.

Interested candidates can talk with Verizon representatives at information sessions scheduled for Friday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Verizon offices, 8001 W. Jefferson Blvd. (enter at the back of the building), across from Lutheran Hospital. Applicants should bring their drivers license, social security card and information on previous employers and addresses to complete an application and be prepared to take a written test, which will be offered at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day. The testing takes approximately five hours, including the scoring and application process.

Candidates should be available to work between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The starting wage is $9.24 an hour up to $18.72 per hour, depending on an applicant's experience and education, with wage increases every six months.
