DALLAS -- To assist small businesses struggling with profitability and expenses in an uncertain economy, Verizon SuperPages is adding a new Small Business Internet Marketing course to its Internet Learning Tutor Web site (www.superpages.com/ilt), a free online interactive training series geared toward small businesses and consumers.
"Verizon's experience with small business customers and findings from our recent Small Business Internet Survey* show adopters of the Internet consider it a business imperative," said Patrick Marshall, group vice president - marketing of Verizon SuperPages. "The Internet Learning Tutor targets the 80 percent of small businesses that have Internet access but may lack the skills to reach new customers and markets online."
Level 103 visitors learn how to effectively market to their current and potential customers by using a Web site, e-mail and online advertising. In addition to tactics, the course provides strategy coaching to help them lay the groundwork for a successful online marketing campaign, such as setting realistic goals that ultimately pay off in measurable results.
Relevant sections of How to Really Market on the Internet, a workbook that is distributed free by one of Internet Learning Tutor's partners, SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), appear throughout Level 103 as an additional resource. The workbook is sponsored by Verizon SuperPages and SCORE and may be downloaded in the Resources section of the Tutor.
Many education-focused organizations are supporting the Internet Learning Tutor, which includes Level 101 basics, Level 102 multimedia and Level 103 small business marketing courses, as an effective way to increase Internet education. Organization sponsors of the Internet Learning Tutor include: Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC), Internet Education Foundation, SCORE and The Welfare to Work Partnership.
