Verizon Wireless and Procter & Gamble Team on Innovative Wireless Internet Application

Application Enhances Innovation 2000 Event For 500 Executives

CINCINNATI - Verizon Wireless and Procter & Gamble (P&G) today announced a joint effort to demonstrate the potential of wireless Internet services to provide productivity enhancing applications to the business community. The application will be featured at P&G's Innovation 2000 event being held June 13th through 15th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The wireless Internet application will be provided to 500 P&G executives during the event. Using Verizon Wireless phones, the participants will have the ability to manage information while attending the conference, enabling them to get the most out of the event. For example, participants will have the ability to send and receive email and schedule events during the conference. They will also have access to information about the event, company news and press releases, even the corporate phone directory. Visiting participants will be able to find Cincinnati weather information, the P&G stock price, and the Verizon Wireless public Internet portal, all from the screen of their wireless phone.

Verizon Wireless worked with P&G to deliver the application through Verizon's Wireless Internet service, which launched March 15th in Cincinnati. Verizon Wireless also provided the Web-enabled wireless phones for the event.

Procter & Gamble's Innovation 2000 is a technology trade show at providing an innovation showcase and environment in which technology connections can be made.

The event will be attended by up to 5,000 people from P&G's Global Research & Development organization, market and consumer researchers, business leaders and general managers.

Innovation 2000 is the largest exposition of leading-edge technologies ever sponsored by the Company. Exhibitors will demonstrate and deal their ideas in a technology marketplace with the goal of creating connections and innovations that will advance P&G's business either in the form of commercial technologies or major product upgrade opportunities.

Participants include 77 exhibits by P&G businesses and organizations, demonstrating everything from water filtration and purification techniques to robotics automation and prototyping. In addition, 47 exhibits by outside technology sources will include ground-breaking work by universities and government laboratories.
